The Place to see and be seen in 2010
Buddha-Bar Hotel & Spa is one of the most exciting projects coming to Panama. The internationally acclaimed brand is famous for its chic hotels, fabulous restaurants and nightlife and some of the past decade’s best electronic music compilations, which bear the same name. The project is unique because it is conversion as opposed to new construction. And like other exclusive international brands arriving on the isthmus of late, Panama is Buddha-Bar’s first-ever incursion into Latin America.

Work on Buddha-Bar’s first Latin American property is already under way here in Panama, a conversion project
of Hotel Crystal Suites on Via Brasil.
The eight-story hotel will be ready at the end of this year. It’s 90 full-service suites with contemporary Asian design are being sold as condo-hotel units. The popular amenities, like a signature restaurant, lounge and a rooftop bar will be open to the public in Panama.
“We are excited to be spearheading such a momentous milestone for the Buddha-Bar brand.” said developer Carlos Salinas of Venezuela “The result will be one of the most luxurious five-star developments in Panama’s thriving metropolis, which has proven to be an ultimate ‘hot spot’ for jet-setters.” Salinas also commented that Panama City’s cosmopolitan allure and popular tourist appeal were factors that played a key role in bringing the brand to Panama. He says: “Buddha-Bar will be the ‘it’ place to bring in 2010 at the hotel’s official opening on New Year’s Eve.”
Buddha-Bar has become an international craze in cities like London, Cairo, Paris, Beirut, and Dubai. Buddha-Bar Hotel & Spa caters to the most sophisticated clientele in “see and be seen” locations that offer avant-garde yet peaceful lodging including a Zen spa.
Converting an existing building allows the hotel to enter the market quickly, said Salinas: “We have 12 hotels in Europe under Hospes Hotels, and we always look for existing buildings that have lots of life in excellent locations.” The Buddha-Bar remodel has already begun on the Crystal Suites Hotel located on Via Brazil, near Punta Pacifica.
